Purple City Music Festival Presents: Talk City

Sept. 4–6, 2025

Each year on the first weekend of September, Purple City Music Festival attracts over 4,000 music lovers of all ages to the heart of amiskwacywâskahikan / Edmonton to experience a stunning curation of independent music and celebrate our local arts community.

From psych rock to punk, avant-garde to folk, this youth-inspired community event showcases over 90+ world-class acts across 9 stages, with free music programming at the Block Party Main Stage, a pro wrestling ring, live mural painting, educational and industry networking sessions open to all.

This year, we’re launching Talk City, a free, three-day music conference for artists and music professionals. Industry leaders from across North America will offer mentorship, career insights, and real talk on building a stronger, more equitable music scene.

As an all-ages, walkable boutique festival of the future and a community-centred non-profit, Purple City’s innovation, diversity and accessibility have made it one of the best music events in Alberta—both on stage and behind the scenes.

Key Impact Area: Providing free industry panels, mentorship, and networking opportunities for underrepresented groups.
