On-Going | The Banff Summer Arts Festival

Every year The Banff Centre celebrates The Banff Summer Arts Festival. During the celebration, guests and Banff residents can take in all the performing, visual and literary art they can take, as well as learn about mountain culture and leadership in exploration. The annual summertime festival has over 150 events that span from May until August.

Whether you come to Banff to catch an opera, attend a contemporary or classical dance performance or just a literary reading, you’ll see that Banff National Park has a lot more to offer than spectacular scenery!

This summer, Banff Centre comes alive with music, dance, theatre, and art across the campus.

From big stage performances to late-night discoveries, it’s all part of the Banff Centre Summer Arts Festival.

Alberta spans five treaty territories and eight Métis settlements. Like their ancestors, many Indigenous individuals and families make their homes across the prairies, including the Blackfoot Confederacy – Kainai, Piikani, and Siksika – the Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, Stoney Nakoda, and the Tsuu T’ina Nation. Many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit, both from here and as visitors from elsewhere, have helped care for these lands for generations. We recognize they have traditions and relationships to the land far outstretching the arrival of settlers.

We are extremely grateful for these lands on which we reside, work, and play. We make this acknowledgement as an act of gratitude and reconciliation. While championing the arts in Calgary and across Alberta, we intend for our work to contribute to the valuing of traditional art forms and result in greater opportunity for the creative Indigenous talent who walk these lands today.
